Colleen has a background in education graduating from Waikato University with a Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching with Distinction. As the business grew she completed a NZIM Certificate in Business Management and manages the Rich Hill brand and Human Resources. Karl joins the team at Rich Hill having completed a long and successful period at The Oaks Stud Cambridge as Marketing and Nominations Manager. As an owner and breeder, and also having spent time working in both racing stables and stud farms, Karl brings a great knowledge of the industry.
Clients and customers will be very impressed with her enthusiasm and efficiency. Ross has been with Rich Hill for the last four years, bringing with him a wealth of industry experience. He was previously a part of the Millfield Stud team for ten years, then followed by seven years as the owner and manager of Java Lodge Stud in Matamata. Renee has been with the stud for over 15 years and provides a wealth of knowledge and a calm hand in assisting our yearlings.
Bill Ewen is a partner in Marks Ewen Associates and is one of the most respected Equine vets in New Zealand. Grant is one the most progressive and knowledgeable farriers in the country. His skills ensure that our horses are given every opportunity to develop good feet and general conformation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a progressive stud farm situated in Matamata, Waikato, New Zealand.
The position is a key role in our business and a great opportunity to progress in the industry. We are looking for an experienced horse person to assist our Stallion and Broodmare Managers. Rich Hill Stud, Walton was founded in 1994 and has become a show piece property of 320 acres situated in the heart of the fertile Waikato basin. The name Rich Hill originates from the homeland of John's grandfather Vic Troughton who grew up in Richhill, Co Armagh, Northern Ireland and immigrated to the Waikato district in the early 1900's.
Rich Hill Stud is now firmly established as one of New Zealand's leading thoroughbred nurseries. Its picturesque location and superb facilities provide a safe and natural environment for its young thoroughbreds. The farm has become renowned for raising and selling a quality product that is sound enough to compete at the highest level on Australasia's leading racetracks. The strict physical and genetic criteria adhered to over the last decade, when selecting stallions, broodmares and racehorses is now reflected by the success we have achieved in the sale ring and on the racetrack
